There was no dang reason for him to do that, except out of spite! She is going to try to get it back, but not sure who could take him in. Her landlord won't allow animals.

That's mighty sweet of ya. I live in Ohio too, but Fairy lives in Missouri. I told her if worse comes to worse, I will take it in. I live in a small apartment and have a small dog. Might be able to keep her dog hidden until she found another place. Her daughter is going to be crushed
