Seeing as how this is tax season, I have a question for ya'. Do you believe that all taxes are justified?

Without taxes I would have no job, so, yes. I am an international tax accountant.

I'd be out of a job if it wasn't for taxes.

Not all taxes ARE justified. I look at my phone bill and see half a dozen extra taxes or fees for this and fees for that....utility tax or whatever.... geesh!

Sales tax on services..... another one.

After reading 100 pages on taxes and the debt. Yes they are more than justified.

According to Mikesell, people keep forgetting the impact or statutory incidence many not coincide with the incidence of the tax because shifting has occurred.

What a nugget of knowldege that was!

Hmmm... lets see.. I get taxed on my business, then taxed again as an income.. Not to mention any inventory I might have.. gets taxed. The longer I have it the more it costs. So.. this is a touchy subject for me.

jist we are talking about my job here...jk

If you are getting taxed on your income and on the income of your business, I am thinking that your business is deducting the cost of your salary..so you really aren't paying on it twice.

as for the inventory, I agree. I am not a transaction tax person but I think property taxes are out of control. Some states don't tax inventory, though. Maybe you should consider that.

Peccy, are you asking questions AGAIN? Taxes as they exist are. More taxes are not. The marriage penalty and inheritance taxes should be permanently abolished and spending should be bought under control.
