we will use me in the story, but no, its not haha im not that stupid...

lets say, i have a car that i am going to take to the dealership to sell to them. they say they are going to give me $6000 for the car and then let me take $1000 of that money and put it down on a brand new car and finance the rest on the new car.

my opinion is no...i think they will make me use my old car as a trade in on the new car....but, then again, i could be wrong.

my friend is telling me that this is what he is going to do, so we have been arguing it. so he calls me from the dealership says that they cut him the check for the old car, approved him on the new car, but he had to have florida insurance and had to take the check from the dealer, go to the bank, open an acct, go get insurance and go back to the dealership and when he got there they told him it was a problem with the financing and now he may not get the new car.

here is where it dont make sense, lmao. if they gave him the check for the old car, no way are they going to let him drive the car they just bought for him around town to run the errands and if he deposited the check and spent part of it, no way can he buy the old car back...

is there part of this riddle that i am missing?

This check thingy is fishy- perhaps they just bought the car
from him to sell it to someone else for more money. He can't get
a new car and they have his old one!

The allways pretend to let you trade your car in- but never give you what it is worth either. You are actually just giving them your car and financing a new one most of the time.

what he is saying is that he is sitting at the dealership now. they have already bought his old car from him and gave him the check which he alledgedly went and put in the bank already. now they are telling him that the financing for the new car is not going thru so he is telling me that they will have to give him his old car back, but like i said to him, they arent going to give yoiur old car back if you have cashed the check and have nothign to hand them back for your car. also, if they bought the car, handed him the check, they are not going to let him drive that car they just bought from him off the lot to go run around town in. so his story isnt jiving with me
