I keep my kid away from my dates unless I'm pretty sure there is something long term there. I don't take it lightly...

If you meet a person when they are with their child, then that is the frame of reference, and what you talk about.

For me? I want to get to know them, and them to get to know me, and talking about my kid comes later... and meeting my kid comes much later.

On a serious note - what Lilith said....can't say it any better. Agree 100%. You can't get to know someone when the kids are around. I too keep my daughter out of my relationships unless I feel it is going to be someone I'm going to potentially have a long relationship with. That's why she's only met 2 of my "girlfriends". The first one lasted for a year, although she was a b!tch - just hid it very well, the second one was just 2 weeks ago....we'll see how long it lasts. hopefully I am right with this one.

I agree. We as parents have an obligation to protect or children. I myself would never use my son as a means to pick up a date. Now if I was out in public and my son does something and it catches the eye of somebody and starts up a conversation, then sure if I am interested I will continue the conversation. But I would never send my child over to a stranger to try to strike up a conversation I should be doing for myself.

Agreed. It is like almost two months if not longer before I would introduce a guy to my son.

Thank you! Gotta uphold my standards, dear! I appreciate it. I'll try not to be so quick to hit reply when you're in the house...

Ya, my daughter doesn't come into the picture until around month 3 or 4... They need to fall in love with me and not her... she'll win you quicker than I will.....

If somebody was trying to use there child to pick you up, would you fall for it or would you think it was rather tacky?

To pick ME up???

Now there's a good strategy....!!
