How ironic. I was JUST thinking about whippor-wills, a childhood memory hearing them outside my window. I love animals and have gotten a bit more learned over the last few years about birds. I know a cardinal by listening for sure.

I own a Quaker Parrot , his name is Buger and he loves to quack like a duck. LOL. I also love watching wild birds in the yard.

hyacinth macawas have been a long time favorite, my dream is to one day live close enough to a bird sanctuary to volunteer. One of my favorite vacation spots has a bird rehabilitation sanctuary right in the park. If it is a slow period of time (as in not many visitors in the park) I have been allowed to help feed the birds. It's the coolest thing ever. Once when I was at the zoo in San Antonio walking through the bird tent I had a spoon bill land on my head and try to pull out my hair. Apparently they are attracted to all things red and really liked the idea of having some of my red hair in their nest. My husband and in-laws were scared but I thought it was cool, how many people can say a spoon bill has landed on their head?
