I lived in DFW for like 11 years and saw true snow maybe 5 times at most?

Wierd, but not unheard of. The first time I flew into Dallas, 1987 or so, there was a foot of snow on the ground and it was 70 degrees out with snow melting like crazy everywhere. Go figure.
When I lived in Dallas about 10 years back it did snow and ice over a couple of times. It was kind of chaotic because some people didn't have much of a clue about how to drive. I got to work and me and the CEO were about the only people at work in the building in Duncanville. There came an announcement over the intercom stating that only essential personnel had to go to work. The CEO turned to m with a smile and said "Well, I guess we know who's essential!" I ended up sliding through a stop sign at the bottom of a hill just blocks from where I worked. Fortunately, there was noone coming dowwn the road and I got stopped about halfway through the intersection. That was fun! (not). Snow's not unheard of in Texas, hut it is rare. Good thing about snow there, though, it doesn't last more than a few days, tops. |
