There were, and ARE WMDs in Iraq and the middle east. The government's not revealing all it knows due to the confidentiality of its sources and its methods, but they're there. Some have been moved, some were found, and some haven't even been found yet. Our forces found a lot of camouflaged chemical drums hidden in bunkers throughout Iraq and binary weapons set up and ready to be filled before launching. They wouldn't hit us from there, but they would've been able to hit our allies and parts of Europe and the program was developing toward longer ranges.

Additionally, Saddam Hussein was butchering tens of thousands of people and had shut off water to deprive thousands of marsh arabs in several hundred square miles of the south their traditional fishing lifestyle and livelihood. That has been remedied, among other things.

That's one reason we're there and the war is costing lives, limbs and money. I figure it's worth it to avoid having WMDs hurled at us here in the states, but I do think things financial in Iraq and Afghanistan could be managed better, a LOT better. McCain'd be wise to get a handle on all that if he gets in. He needs to. The amount of money we're spending and the bloated federal budget are part of the cause of our current financial difficulties. Our nation would be well served by getting control of spending: passing line item vetoes and greater transparency on earmarks and such.

IF there were WMD's in Iraq and the middle east, (and I am not saying their weren't) you would think they would have WANTED to tell or "reveal" it seeing as how they made themselves look pretty stupid saying their was, ~~ but then couldn't find any.

"The government does not reveal all it knows..." mmm.. that's an under statement! (Or maybe the government don't know anything. LOL)

If they are hiding things from us, then why are we paying for them? I think things are a little too classified for my tastes. "Classified" is used to cover-up corruption.

I think there may have been the threat of weapons in Iraq that were threatening Israel, because Israel is certainly within range of any lesser weapon. I am not so quick to believe that they had any long range WMD's but I am sure, with the money and the wealth they had, it would not have been very long before they could get them.

I don't think anyone know all the answers. But I think war is big business, and that is the main reason for it.
