I think the real question is - Can opposites stay together? From the looks of everyone's responses the answer is no.

Does that mean I have to date a republican?frown laugh JK

noway mixed marriage laugh

i get that all the time because i am an independent
but register either as a R or D depending on which
primaries i want to vote in...hard to keep track sometimes
about which way i've registered....

the downside is - i get solicitations from both parties noway
EGADS

actually in my experience it is the similarities which
bring you really together and keep you together long term
differences begin to rub after a while.

as for competitiveness...that is one for you to contemplate
(but i would surely kick your butt!! laugh  )

oh hohohohohoho bigsmile

Sometimes what we see in an opposite are qualities we lack in ourselves.... and we can learn from them. There still needs to be common interests as well..........

I played lacrosse with a guy, we're both fairly competitive, I kicked hiss butt and in the process, broke his spirit and nose

my ex and I used to box...she would always kick my butt. She would get mad and punch me, and I would never punch back...a few busted noses, coupla teeth knocked out..welllll, I finally fought back...and div her. Opposites mentally may survive, but opposites physically will never last together very long
