I was standing on the side of the road, my thumb out as any hitch hiker would do, I silently hoped that someone would take pitty on me. Finally, someone stops, asks where I am headed, and quickly tells me to get in. We drive off, and for hours, we're in silence. Out of nowhere the driver parks the car, and as we turn to one another, he gouges out my left eyeball with a rusty butter knife.
