Hiya JT
I saw your mention of the water problem. Is it all dried now? |
yeah it's dried now.the landlord is supposed to come over and put some sealant down along the floor sometime,so i think that should prevent it from happening again
i'm bacvk AD and everyone.
Yeah, I saw that part too... Don't tell anyone but the sealant isn't going to do a damn bit of good. It's like trying to patch a hole in a sink by painting it. If only life were that simple. |

If the water is coming in the walls then you can dig down the outside of the house and re-seal the walls. That is a big job and a real hassle. If the water is coming up through the floor then either there is a water line under the house that's leaking somewhere and the floor has to be broken up and the pipe fixed... Or the drain tiles around the edge of the basement floor are clogged up. THAT is what's causing your problem I'd bet. Well, as long as there isn't a plumbing leak somewhere. Tree roots and other garbage get into the drain tiles under the foundation over time and they get stopped up. Any local drain pro would be able to give you some options. Did you check the sump pump first?? ALWAYS check the easy stuff first! ![]() If somebody unplugged the sump pump or if the motor is burned out or perhaps even the drain hose is stopped up outside by something... THAT will allow water to back up in the drain tiles. |
