Do you think that the law inforcement agency in your town should be able to watch your neighborhood via video camera

I agree in city districts and popular shopping areas, I don't agree with suburb areas and townships. Look at England, they have this and with all the dirty police they still can't keep criminals in check what makes one think it will be different in states? Not saying all police are dirty but every town/city/state has their fair share.

Im from Chicago we got the blinking blue light cams every 2blocks and every inch of downtown is on camera.

Depends if it was done properly or not, like I said I can't see it working in a town or a residential district. Though it could definatly have its perks in shopping districts and warehouse districts, but that is where it would have to stay and not stray to residential otherwise it would in fact be a infringement on privacy.

Absolutely not...alot of cops I know are crooked, and they would get what ever they could to hang you all the more.

I was going of the crime statistics, not trying to point a finger at anyone. If I chose to live in a shopping district then I would deal with it seeing as I wouldn't be doing anything wrong and there are shades for my windows. I can break this down even more statistically if you would like, but in the United States camera's do help if they are placed correctly again like I said before. If it would make you feel better I suppose they can cut more into taxes and place camera's where I live but they won't do anything as the most they will get is some vandals. Statistically crime figures are higher in shopping/warehouse districts because this is where a lot of tourists are found, warehouse districts is a big breeding ground of gang violence.

With your justification of there would still be drive by's and fights, would it not make more sense that there is already an eye that caught the event occur and therefore can put the one's responsible behind bars quicker. This falls down the same way Tinley Park did, do you think they would object to camera's in every business, every corner, every road now?

I have never heard of a murder case being solved by a blue light... but I have seen a friends unsolved murder on a dvd
