Maybe so. But earthquakes in the UK are rare. You wouldn't be so rash in your statements if it happened where you are.

Reports: Tremors Felt Across England
Updated:01:40, Wednesday February 27, 2008
Tremors have been felt across England, according to Sky News witnesses this morning.
The epicentre of the expected earthquake is believed to have been 15 miles from Lincoln.
The tremor, timed at 12:56am, read 4.7 on the Reichter scale.
Reports of rooms shaking have been received from Manchester to Norfolk.
Viewers in Rugby, Oldham, London, Windsor, West Yorkshire, Blackpool and Dunstable have all recorded being awoken by the shake.
Sylvia Tidy-Harris from Ellistown, Leicestershire described the tremor as a "real boneshaker".
"It was like a big juggernaut was coming down the road. It was very loud and the whole house shook."
Mel Garratt from south Lincolnshire said the tremor lasted from five to 10 seconds.
Sky News correspondent Lisa Dowd said the tremor was similar to an earthqauke in 2002 with Dudley as its epicentre.
That tremor recorded the largest in the UK for over a decade.

Things don't start getting interesting until you have a nice, big, fat 7-pointer rattling your bones. I live in L.A. and I've slept through a couple of those over the years. FUN! laugh
