I met a man from the internet 2 weekends ago. He drove for 3 hours to meet me. When I pulled up at the gas station to meet him, I knew then that he had lied to me. On his profile he listed that he was 33, and when I saw him, I knew that he was older than that. I have asked him several times since then about his age, but he says that he is 33. I have no problem with age, but do not lie about your age. He has a Veteran tag on his 94 Honda Accord, and told me on the phone that he can begin getting his retirement in a few years from the Army. I do not know enough about the Army and life after, but I do know about Honesty. What do u think?

Trust your instincts. Go with your very first thought.

I don't get why people feel the need to lie.

Met at a gas station because he was not from around here and he didn't know where to go. Public place is what I thought about. Hell he lied about his age, what else could it have been?

Well, it's good that you met at a public place for safety. He might not be lying about his age. Maybe he bought the car from an army friend who had the sticker on the car (or if he is from a military family it might be his fathers). As far as retirement... when you finish your term from the military, you start receiving your pention depending on the package that you signed up for, or maybe he got discharged for a medical condition? If he keeps on claiming that he is 33 and plans on seeing you again, I would think he was being straight. Card him next time you go out and give him a chance if your still interested in him.

L,

Depending on how long he's served in the army ....let's see 20 years as a career=13 years old when he enlisted.....Notttttt!!!!

Somewhere along every line he's not telling the entire story, Honesty is very important especially if u guys are interested in establishing a relationship. U can always explain ur feelings regarding honesty, in hopes that he will get it and understand how important it is to U even on a friendship level.

If he doesn't feel comfortable with sharing his age now then, 1. you can accept that and let it be for now...or 2. decide if you feel comfortable enough to continue, meeting with him and/ or talking to him.....if you think he's older remember with age comes wisdom and hopefully that what he can bring to your
experiences.

Good luck and try and have some fun!
