Love is a many splendored thing... I would and do use it as often as I could when I mean it, because you just never can tell what the future will bring. I would like my loved ones to remember that "I love you" was the last thing I said to them... and that does not at all diminish its meaning in my eyes.

There so many variations of love... It seems you are asking about love other than the romantic sort?

The over-use or dramatizations of words is not limited to love... we use it with hate, like, and we also use "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" like they are going out of style.

Simply put, we use these phrases because they are easy, they are familiar, and they convey a general sense others understand. If we all defined exactly how we felt about things, provided we were even capable or had the vocabulary inventory (Lexicon )to accurately describe our feelings.....

.....why, we'd all spend as much time describing our views on things as we do waiting in line!

Yes... because the depth of my love comes not from the words, but from my gestures, my actions, and in my heart. The act of saying it simply an extension of that love.

To say "I love you" and not show it is empty. To prove my love and back it up with the reassurance of words... that is why I say it. I've also been known to say it when I cannot show it do to distance or circumstances. For me, the two, the words and the deeds, are intertwined.

I don't fear rejection nearly as much as I fear getting my heart stomped on again

If I love someone, I tell them. Of course, there are times when I say it and I mean adoration. We all do that.

I tell my friends regularly that I love them. They know I mean it. I also hug them and show my love as often as I am able. I am there when I'm needed and call when I need them. It does not matter if they are male or female. Love is love.

See? There are limits... as much as shoes jokes (I love you too shoes) we define love based on certain parameters. Those parameters do not limit love, but rather it's depth and breadth are based on what limited knowledge we have. To say love in such a way, it is really affection and an affinity for what you know of them. It can grow, it can shift, there are no bounds.

There are many scriptures that explain the differences in faith.

Faith without deeds is dead.

Faith is an exceptional aspect of love. Faith in self, faith in the other, faith in something greater then the parts.
Faith is not absence of fear. Faith is having the courage to stand in the face of fear.
