I'm not sure if there's any sort of universal or reliable "scale" that can be used to determine whose life is worse than whose -- too many variables, for one thing, and everybody prioritizes differently. What concerns me, as someone with many years of training in psychology, is that you seem to be almost proud of having had a truly horrible history. It's as if you see this as being a competition, you have an implicit desire to "win" (whatever that means in this context), and I'm not sure that this is an effective way of dealing with the problem at all. There's nothing wrong with venting. There are a lot of really good people here, people who are willing to listen and advise as well as they can. Not all problems can be addressed on an internet dating forum, though, and I've noticed that some here have advised professional counseling. I don't know nearly enough about your situation to come to any sort of informed conclusion, but I suspect you may want to look into something a little more involved and personalized than what we can offer here. But if you're looking for new friends, new people to talk to, I don't think you could find a better place. |
