I've been on this site for a little over 4 months now & I've gotten to know who likes what kind of music, who dances, skis, drinks, does long walks on beaches, etc. I've learned who has a sense of humor, who hates Bush, who still thinks he's great & on & on & on.....

But in the grander scheme, are these really what's important? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to find a guy who loved to dance AND ski, enjoyed all the same things I do, agreed with my political views, etc. However, it seems to me, that the most important info ....what we actually believe in, the values and life philosophies that 'rule' our daily behavior is largely missing here.

So, why not share some here? I'll start. Among the most significant issues that rule my life, maybe the most important is the simple rule 'treat others the way you want to be treated'. This is based on my belief that deep down, no matter what size, shape, sex, color, ethnicity, religion, etc, each person is the same & should be treated with fairness, dignity and respect. So, for me, no matter how many activity interests I may have in common with you, if you don't believe in this 'rule' anything more than a superficial relationship would be impossible.

These more, but I'd like to hear what's important to you all. So, tell....what do you believe?

Be yourself...apparently not too many people are really up on this, and as much as my family hates it I am...have fun and be yourself...suppose that's the most important thing aside from personality.

Strong moral values are important to me!

But how do you define 'morals'? What's moral to one may not be to another.

disagree, dislike, but please don't hate. Show some respect for others even if you don't agree with there opinions or beliefs.

Knowing right from wrong, treating other people fairly, do not steal, do not lie... common sense things that are getting hard to find these days

To me, morals are defined by your religious beliefs. Since I am Christian, my morals are based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Many 'religious' people don't really 'live' those teachings. They may discriminate against others, or be intolerant of others' beliefs, so a general statement like 'I believe in Christ's teachings' doesn't tell me much. I purposely didn't post this thread in the religion forum because I didn't want this to become a debate about religion.

I guess, I'd like more specifics. Of all the various teachings, is there one you feel best defines your life views?

i believe that anything is possible and that anything is not possible. I do have my own religion. yes meaning that i started it . I am writing my own bible. i became a (sorry will not fill in the name of my religion) about a year to a year and a half ago. I found myself not knowing what to believe. so i had to take everything that i learned from lessons in my life and turn them in to what i believed in. i am so much happier now that i have those believes.

"Judge not lest ye be judged"

Never pointing out the splinter in thy neigbors eye... something to that effect.

I think that best defines me.
