Cut & run, another lie by the conservative base. That implies overnight withdrawel without any involvement left in the matter. Neither have proposed doing that;^]

If any of you want to see how social programs affect taxes all you need to do is take a look at Canada. You get less than you pay for and you have no independent voice or rights. You pay taxes relative to the number of members in your family and the amount of income, which means the the more money the single guy or woman makes the more taxes they pay to offset the people who don't work and/or the family who has kids who ends up paying less taxes. Personally if I want to help out someone financially or otherwise it should be my choice, it should not be mandated that my tax dollar helps out someone who is too lazy to go to work or someone who does not live a healthy lifestyle and is wasting healthcare taxes dollars another holier than thou who assumes poverty is caused by laziness and a fat butt.not.Poor people have the same rights as you.I pay my healthcare thru my work.I am also glad to give someone a helping hand because it only takes one bad accident or illness to screw the finances. Until they lose everything, then they'll be fully behind social security..lol;^] |

I heard this somewhere about taxes and thought it was pretty funny...Guy 1 gets paid 7.50 an hour, pays at the pay period about 500.00 after taxes guy 1 gets 458.00; guy 2 gets paid about 220.00 an hour, pays at the pay period about 1000.00 after taxes guy 2 gets 958.00.
Poor stay poor, rich get richer. |

Hey North Yank If your health system in Canada is so bad why doesn't Canada switch back? They can't afford to. Read a little on the condition of the health care in Canada and see if you think it's a good idea. Personally I rather pay my own way and keep the gov out of my wallet. you can start with this... CALGARY, AB—Canada spends more on health care than any industrialized nation except Iceland and Switzerland yet we rank near the bottom in terms of access to physicians and new medical technology, according to a new study released today by independent research organization The Fraser Institute. http://www.fraserinstitute.org/commerce.web/newsrelease.aspx?nid=5036 |

maybe if you learned how to read you wouldn't have to worry so much about a security blanket...why not go back and reread what I said about social programs... |

Read this
It turns out that Americans are much sicker then their English counterparts. They believe that part of this has to do with the health system. It is so bad that even the poorest Englishman has a better health then the richest American. So I guess taking care of just yourself has some type of negative effect on society. However I think I read in a book somwhere about being your brothers keeper. So maybe it is just common sense http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn9098-americans-sicker-than-their-english-counterparts.html |

Here's another .. Bad Health Care, Deficient Welfare Keep Americans Short For decades, it has been clear that average European heights have been increasing while those on the other side of the Atlantic have not. But why? A new study says it might have to do with health care and the social net. http://www.spiegel.de/international/zeitgeist/0,1518,484168,00.html |

We already have the same problems as Canada, some hospitals are dirty and have long wait lines. Same thing here, as well both of us still have ER's in emergency situations. The problems are loose standards and not enough health care workers. Has nothing to do with how it's payed for, it's all about regulation. Besides, tax based health care doesn't have to be Canadas twin;^]

I'm saying this. We are America and we can build the best of anything we want to. There is no reason why we shouldn't have the best health care for every one to just walk into off the street when they are sick. We can do what ever the hell we please cause we are Americans. If you sissy Republicans are scared that you might get a dent in your little money pile. Too bad. Go sit in the corner and let us take care of it for you. If you can't be helpful then just stay out of the way |
