Where Has All The Butter Gone?

I went to the store and none could be found
I looked in rare places and even on ground.
Searching first high and then low
But could I find it, heck no!
I asked the clerk to check in the back
He told me to look on the far clearance rack,
Search as I might, none could be seen
And now I thought, no that would be mean.
I checked ten stores and they were all out
And left I each one in quizzical pout,
Where could it go and where could it be
Has someone let all the butter go free?
Then I remembered a tease from the past,
They couldn't have done it, oh darn them, oh blast.
What I thought was a joke made me laugh loud
Where has the butter gone, give it back now!
