i believe that the bible completely puts a twisted view on god. i mean god is a force i do believe in. but not the one the bible speaks of. i believe in the one the founding fathers believed in. i personally dont think god talks to us. he may have made us but in a reasonable way. not the creationism theory. adam and eve and so on. but maybe through evolution. i mean we all know this world is older than 10 thousand years old

I understand your view, however disagree in certain things. I believe the Bible to be true, however some things were written to give the human mind of something to grasp and relate to. Like the "streets of gold" or hell being a fiery pit" etc. Those are metiforic, simply to give the human mind something to grasp and attempt to understand.

Now what ets "twisted" is "religion" which was made by man..not God or the Bible.

Religion is man's way of attempting to place God in a "box" so that man can attempt to lay claim "they know about God". when in fact, we, as man, have no flippin clue rwsally, because its simply way beyond our comprehension. It would be like trying to teach a cow calculus! noway  laugh

And again, take man out of the picture..take religion out of the picture..and just study and look at those things aorund in nature..the things that God made. Its easier to find the truth there, because God has left His fingerprints all over this earth and beyond. bigsmile flowerforyou

Thanks, I just honestly can't see believing in something that i can't see or prove. And sitting there waiting for something is almost as useless as complaining about it.
Its all about controlling people like sheep.
i personally will keep believing what i believe until something proves me otherwise. i mean i will stay very open-minded until i get proof. as of now, i believe in no heaven, no personal god (as he does not communicate with us and we cannot pray to him) no hell, no devil, no truth from the bible, etc. i need proof. and not just an "i hope so" thing

a deist believe in god because of nature. but do you know the true orgins of the bible? how it was created and why? it was a group of books put together 200 years after jesus died for a king that offered lots of money to the church if it came up with sort of a manual for god. they used the the judists books and they add other books to it. they also edited those books to make it "more to the piont"

I agree that something created this universe and the possible infinite realities but as far as the bible being created by anyone other than man I just cant believe that. All religions are vying for control over man but especially women. Seems that in all religion women are meant to be lowly slaves and they dont seem to understand this. Like Catholic women who believe their only purpose in life is to squirt out babies. Its a waste of life and a kick in the face to whatever created everything.

i just want to know what YOU think.

I agree with you concerning the Bible being completely irrelevant and purely manmade.

I believe in a pantheistic view of God. I won’t try to explain that view in a post because it’s not something that can be easily explained in a way that does it justice.

I don’t believe in an intervening God in the sense of an old man in the sky who decides who he’s going to help and who he isn’t.

God set up this universe so that you can assess God’s power from your end. You just need to know how to do it. I would recommend learning “The Secret” for that.

Pantheism ultimately answers all my questions concerning why God has no need to intervene.

I won’t tell you that I know that God exists, or that the power behind ‘The Secret’ exists. One thing I will let you in on is my own ‘secret’, which isn’t a secrete at all. You can’t invoke God’s power via thoughts and feelings alone. You must ACT. SEEK and ye shall find. KNOCK and it shall be opened.

These may sound like they came from the Bible because Jesus taught this, but these things were also taught in Pantheistic religions long before Jesus was ever born. This is the nature of the universe.

AND, this is where the questions arise.

Atheists look at this and say,… “Well DAMN! If I have to do all the SEEKING, … and I have to do all the KNOCKING,… then aren’t I just making it all happen? Who needs God in all of this????”

Well, that’s a valid question. And the very best I can tell from my experience is that a BELIEF of some sort is require. The universe responses to BELIEF.

However, it doesn’t seem to matter what you believe in!!! You can believe in the Biblical God and it will work (assuming that you genuinely SEEK and KNOCK and don’t just sit around on your ass praying)

It will work if you believe the Universe is God. It will work if you simply believe in YOURSELF!

It all comes down to BELIEF. You need to BELIEVE in something. For some reason this is a requirement. If you don’t believe in anything, then the universe won’t work well for you.

You see, when you SEEK and KNOCK, you need to BELIEVE that you’ll find what you are seeking and knocking for. If you don’t believe that you’ll find it then you won’t! And if you BELIEVE with undying faith that you will find it eventually if you persevere then you WILL!,…. supposedly. And if you don’t everyone will just say that you obviously didn’t believe genuinely enough. laugh

I like to think of it this way,…. Where there’s a WILL there’s a WAY.

If you can’t find the WAY, then you don’t have the WILL.

Pure and simple.

As far as life after death is concerned,…..

I have no clue. I personally believe in reincarnation because everything I know points to this, including science. However, it’s inconclusive and it could very well be that we just die when we die. Or there could be any number of scenarios including the Christian Judgment thing. I personally find the idea of a loving God allowing any of his creation to suffer in an eternal hell to be absurd beyond absurd and therefore totally unreasonable.

The idea that we just cease to exist when we die seems to make all of life completely meaningless to me. We may as well have never even bothered to live it if that’s the case. Many atheists argue that life would still have meaning for those who ‘carry on’, but to me that’s absurd. If life is meaningless for an individual then it’s meaningless for all of humanity because humanity is nothing but a large collection of individuals.

In short, it just seems like such a waste to me if we just die when we die. That doesn’t mean that it can’t be that way, but what a terrible waste if it is! I don’t believe it. That makes no sense to me at all.

Let’s face it. The fact that life exists in the first place is a miracle beyond any human comprehension. Therefore why should we not believe in miracles?

From a practical point of view I look at it like this. I arose from this universe. I am a manifestation of this universe. Therefore I AM this universe, or at least an inseparable part of it. And that includes ALL OF WHAT I AM. My entire essence. My entire being. I am this universe.

When I die, everything that is ME, will return back into the universe. There’s no where else to go. Nothing else to be. All that will have changed is my form, but not my essence. My essence will always remain.

I am this universe. There’s nothing else to be.
