I don't think valentine's day is sad, but the postcards definitely are disheartening. http://postsecret.blogspot.com

Yeah they're all real. There are actually two books out full of the anonymous postcards sent in. It's a very emotional experience, people are really honest on them. Some are hilarious, some are inspiring and loving, while some are brutally honest and shocking.

They post a new handful every Sunday on the website.

the basis of valentines day is kind of sad if you ask me - Nothing says I love you like a beheaded priest ....

I found the site about two years ago when my Divorce was starting, very touching, honest , compelling....it grabbed my heart.

I've always thought about it, but it's really intimidating to admit things that are deep like that. Not even because other people will see it, but moreso because then you have to truly admit it to yourself. I feel like I'm still not ready to admit some things to myself yet.

The author of the books (the one who receives all the postcards) goes around the world giving talks about human emotion...it's said that most people find sending their postcard to be an extremely cathartic experience, and it relieves them a lot. I hope I can get there some day...
