My son has a close buddy that is constantly at our house(its ok he's a good kid we like him) but all the kid does is eat! I have explained repeatedly that he cannot constantly eat at our house ,when he's invted it's ok....now I have just busted my son sneaking him food! I even grounded my son before because of this...my son said he's not allowed to eat alot at home & he's always hungry. The kid bribes my son for food!
The kids family is rather large and I do know his parents are good providers.....it's not like they don't feed him ..he's just a piggy.
I don't want to hurt the kids feeling but I'm getting tired of it!

that does sound like a tough one. Beyond talking to the kid's parents, I wouldn't know how to deal with it either...makes me glad that I had girls...

How old is the boy? You son's friend? Do you believe he eats too much, in that he is overweight? (as you said he is fed at home)

I really wouldn't know how to handle this one as I have raised 2 sons and have never experienced this. You may have to put all of the goodies in a separate hiding place, only known to you. Is the kid over weight or is he just obsessed with food?

I am in same boat Dawnette. Just yesterday my sons girlfriend and her cousin were here. and the cousin kept saying how hungry she was.. then she looked at me and said, "if we were at my nana's, she'd feed us!" so i said. Is your nana a single mom struggling to keep a roof over your head and food on the table? Im barely able to feed my own son, and he just feeds the neighbors!! I have always taught him to be kind to others blah blah blah... but there is a limit.. like when our fridge is bare, dont offer to feed the whole village!!

How do you know he is being fed at home? I have a friend who's mother forbid them to eat anything she did not cook/hand them. The kids were starving! It got to the point where they would steal food. The parents appeared to be good providers but had a screw loose.

Please dont take his problem lightly. He has a medical problem. He needs help. I have fought my eat problems all my life. It has been a battle. Take to his parents so they can take him to someone that can help him learn how to control himself, and eat healthy. Your son should be educated in this area to so he can help his friend.
