It would depend on the person I guess. I myself wouldn't because that shows a serious lack of trust from the start. I'm pretty sure the guy/girl wouldn't like knowing you found out personal things about them behind their backs. Ruins a possible relationship from the start.

I feel that if you are in doubt then yes do one for yourself protection whether female or a guy better safe than sorry, but even if there isn't anything on them there is that chance there could be at any time in life whether in their past, present or future...there is always that possibility someone could change either for the better or worse...like the wedding vows go ya know.

(I dated a guy who ended up stocking me & wouldn't take no for an answer & then found out he was bi-polar as well, he had a history of beating his ex wife what a combination!
