It depends - if you hunt in the eastern part of the state you get "swamp deer". They go about the size of a german shepherd. If you head west, the mountain variety can get as big as a small mule deer.

I've seen them on the hoof I would estimate to be around 300, well I've seen two that big on avg they go 200-225. |

I was hunting with my dad and our gunsmith in Wyoming (only he had drawn a deer license). He killed a 9 pointer that field dressed at 275.

You have to try hunting in Alberta. Everything from antelope, moose, whitetails, mule deer, pheasants, grouse, bears, cougars, elk and they're all big!
Even the gophers here are big enough to take down a full grown man!
