I believe what the Bible tells me to believe.

Throughout history and parts of the world, angels have different meanings and different powers, but all angels are able to do special things for believers. Each angel was a distinct species. Medieval thought was that angels were a distinct being, endowed with intelligence and free will, which humans could never hope to attain. To others, angels are here to serve the human race, to guide us, to protect us, but never to interfere in our free will; (((as we humans are higher than angels, as we are children of God, and made in the image of God and they are to serve God.)))

Gabriel, the angel of the enunciation, in Daniel. 8:15-26 and 9:21-27. Gabriel also appears in Luke 1:11 Zechariah was in the sanctuary when an angel of the Lord appeared, standing to the right of the incense altar. 19 Then the angel said, "I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!.

As a messenger angel. 'principalities' comes in the form of communicating to people about their personal problems or life decisions. Some believe that Gabriel submits prayers to heaven or bring information to us.

Uriel is an angel of death who was also thought to be the angel of transformation, is believed to be standing by people on the verge of death.

Michael the archangel appears as a warrior angel in 1 Thess. 4:16 and Jude 9. Michael is said to be the defender angel who does battle Daniel 10:13, 21; and 12:1. Also in Romans. 8:38, Eph. 1:21, and Col. 1:16.

The guardian angels are all aspects and forms of Michael, personal guardian angels, as well as those that help armies and protect nations. They say that earth has an angel.

There is another angel that appears if a person has died. There is said to be an angel called the Gatekeeper who comes to gently lead them into the spiritual realm.

"Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones (children and animals), for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven."

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

"Angels of the Lord" "As he considered this, he fell asleep, and an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said, "do not be afraid to go ahead with your marriage to Mary. For the child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit. When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord commanded. He brought Mary home to be his wife." Matthew 1:20-24

Dionysius, a 5th or 6th century writer gives us the hierarchical order of the angels. The first group is the seraphim, cherubim and thrones. The word seraphim (singular is saraph) is taken from the fiery imagery often associated with the Presence of God-- Ezek. 1:27. Cherubim are represented as guardians with many wings. Thrones have been depicted wearing stoles and kneeling before God.

"Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew" . Isaiah 6:2

"So He drove out the man; and placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life". Gen. 3:24

The name cherub (cherubim plural) denotes the power of knowing and beholding God. Their receptivity to the most high gift of light. Their contemplation of the beauty of the divinity in its first manifestation. They are filled by participation and divine wisdom and bounteously outpour to those below them from their own fountain of wisdom. -Dionysius.

glasses DO YOU BELIEVE IN THEM ? glasses

Absolutely. Hands down. They've saved my life and the lives of my children. Incredible shows of miraculous power.

But even if I hadn't seen their works, I'd believe. Because the Bible says they exist and I totally believe the Word of God .. cover to cover.

Angels...

The notion has pleasant and magical implication(s)... That there are winged creatures of 'God' which carry messages, protect, and do 'Gods' work...

I wonder, because I do not remember reading it, whether or not angels were also claimed to have been made in 'Gods' image, like man? I mean, reportedly, do they look like people with wings?

There are undoubtedly unexplained supernatural forces 'alive' in this universe, that of which humans may not ever be able to comprehend completely. Evidence of what lies within one is abounding.

Whether or not angels exist as suggested in the Bible raises some questions for myself, based upon the validity of the notion of a perfect omni-'God' creating them, moreover, why?

I believe in wonderful things such as, perhaps, the notion of angels, just not only for the reasons contained within the Bible. I believe the potentiality of the essence of 'God' is infinite and indivisible.

Curiously enough is my name though...

I believe they exist, and I believe in God who created them. We should be carefull how we treat people cause we never know we might be entertaining an angel.

In the bible some angels were evil weren't they? They weren't all beautiful and good.

In the book of Ezekiel (in the Bible) it tells the story of the fall of Lucifer (Satan)... typically, he decided that he would raise his power above the throne of God... and convinced 1/3 of all of heaven's angels to follow him in the rebellion...

In the after-math, God created hell, and for Lucifer and the third of all existing angels that were to follow him in the rebellion, God cast them into this place called "hell". That 1/3 of the heavenly host that got condemned with Lucifer are what we now call "demons"... or another term given to them is "fallen angels."

Typically, those entities cast into hell are attributed as "evil" and those that remained in heaven are attributed as "good."

One amazing Bible fact... is that Lucifer was actually considered the most beautiful angel of them all. Ugliness some how got interpreted as an equivalent to evil in our culture, but not necessarily in the pages of the Bible. If we turn on a Hollywood horror movie, and evil is portrayed, it will usually be some hideous monster that is grotesque to look at... that is a cultural stereo-type of evil.

If evil were truly ugly and grotesque, we would more easily identify it, and more easily identify evil when it tempts us to action in the evil direction. But often times evil comes to us as a soft, subtle, and deceptive notion, and seemingly with little trial, has overtaken our thoughts when we least expect it....

"Beauty"... if it be any in terms of the spiritual, would be the fruits of the Spirit of God... love, joy, gentleness, meekness, kindness, love, long-suffering... if you see these things in a person, chances are they live in a righteous fashion, and have the Spirit of God in their heart.

Every religion speaks of angels of some sort..

When my daugter was about 3 she told me "mommy I picked you" and I said oh you did baby...and she said "yes, when I was with the angels I picked you to be my mommy" I looked at her for a minute and not wanting to press the issue (as kids have a way of telling you what you want to hear) I said "well baby if you were with the angels does that mean you were an angel" and she told me that yes she was and then I asked "well baby if you were an angel where are your wings?" she said to me "I had to leave them behind so I could be with you mommy" and went back to playing like nothing had just happened...

Do I believe in angels... without a doubt in my mind.
