Should they shiver and quiver in fear they’ll deliver a sign that they’d like to rebel? Are they winners or sinners or awkward beginners in a life that is clearly a test? So basically religions purpose is love? Abra? I think the purpose of religious institutions is to control the masses and make people feel guilty and unworthy. They might preach love, but they don't do a very good job of exhibiting it or fostering it. They way I look at it, I was actually made to feel guilty about love. At least as it pertains to physical intimacy. They made out like love was a sin.    So I basically reject organized religions altogether as being more damaging than helpful to the human spirit. They make God out to be an angry judgmental old fool.  Where’s the love? |
