So Abra, what you were saying with those lovely pictures is that the purpose of religion should be to teach man to love one another?!?
or was it that the purpose of religion is to show people the hidden, deeper meanings to life... just connecting your art to the OP. |

An Oasis trickled by to water all the flowers
and couldn’t help but stop to ask, "From wench do we get our powers? Zeus dropped by for the holiday Wishing Cupid,… “Best of Luck!” And Dragoness is all awry cuz her thread is now amuck It’s filled with love and poetry Religion’s dead and gone! and now it’s time for us to sing a silly bedtime song!,… Off to bed we go,… fiddly diddly doe bunnies of dust nightmares of lust and wet dreams of rolling in dough Write a child’s book of a meek Captain Hook who repented from being adult Then teach them to pray with a childish cliché to brainwash them into a cult Are they naught or nice will their manners suffice to save them from going to hell? Should they shiver and quiver in fear they’ll deliver a sign that they’d like to rebel? Are they winners or sinners or awkward beginners in a life that is clearly a test? Will they stumble and fall and fumble the ball as they try to give life all their best? |

So basically religions purpose is love? Abra? I think the purpose of religious institutions is to control the masses and make people feel guilty and unworthy. They might preach love, but they don't do a very good job of exhibiting it or fostering it. They way I look at it, I was actually made to feel guilty about love. At least as it pertains to physical intimacy. They made out like love was a sin. So I basically reject organized religions altogether as being more damaging than helpful to the human spirit. They make God out to be an angry judgmental old fool. Where’s the love? |
