why do people need to believe in something to get through the day? like god for instance, why do people need this god,to tell them wat to do,or how to live their own lives? how does one know if one really exists

There are many things that don't have answers to them yet and things happen that make no real sense and don't follow logic as we know it.

I don't argue in favor of there being a God, but he can't be disproven effectively unless you are able to explain all of the "unknowns" by some other logic.

remember, u did ask a question, so be prepared to hear any answer with open logic right?

it would seem that there is no question that does not have an answer, and if it be the correct one i presume nothing will disagree, as there is only one truth that exist in all, and it is the same one, as we all come from the same well

i like your questions wolf, but i am one that knows all things have an answer, so debate or discussion or talking is good, as it is all communication, and builds bridges of friendship, no matter how at first it sound

(This my offend alot of people) But, to me god is just an adults version of an imaginary friend. I want to be in control of my life. To base the foundation of my very exsistance on something as rediculous as "faith" and to be nothing but a puppet on the string of some "higher being" is not living. I just look at all the problems the church has. The end product of what "religion" has brought to us. Children getting molested, war, blood shed over who's right and who is wrong. The fanatisism of some people and how the'd rather turn their back on there own family just because their convictions are not the same, or they do not agree with the supposed standards of the "higher being". Don't get me wrong here I respect religion and all that other stuff. But that's just the way I see things.

We have a deep internal desire to bond with something greater than ourselves... it was built inside us so we would seek it out... whether you believe it is God or not is up to you... I know that spot always felt empty and lonely until I put Him there... and I'm not a depressed person anymore.

i dont think the bible is right, since it has been changed quite a few times, they completely changed it back in the 1st century, and about 5 more times after that, who knows how the bible was then, maybe it had truth, but now im not sure. And they made god sound like an evil person back in the salem witch trials to keep everyone afraid and in their place, they were also told how to live their lives, could this be wat we are doing today?

To be logical, there HAS to be someone, or something, greater than us! There is an energy that connects us, along with every living being!!! My energy, or power, I call GOD!!! This is done by Faith.

The way you asked your question is very offensive. I never understood why people say christians are weak because they feel they need God. Im pretty sure, in fact, im positive that all of us are weak and whether or not you have faith in a higher being has no bearing on that. Nobody can completely lead their own life. Noone is that strong, im sorry.

I have one question..How has religion brought us war and blood shed? Those things are in the world because thats just the nature of humans. People fight, not everyone gets along, people do bad things. As for people turning their backs on family for their convictions, thats terrible. I dont think you should blame religion for one person or even a few people's actions. Every person is different even if they share the same religion. Just like I wouldnt say all atheists or all pagans are...fill in the blank.

It's really sad that people attack each other because of their faith in something. Everyone has their right to believe whatever they want as long as they arent hurting anyone else.

I, as a christian, am not a puppet believing lead by something but use the values of a religion to lead my own life. I make my own decisions, just happen to have faith in a higher power.

wolf, now you speak with passion and such truth....do you think there are REAL provable answers for your questions, or are they just to make conversation? If we have all of civilization to look back at, is it to far out to think maybe the truth is possible to know, like for real know, undisputable knowing?

i definetly respect peoples beliefs, but what if aliens("IF" they do exists)are the ones who created us?it can make sense to some and to none but wat about all those probing and harvesting(i think).im not a believer, but im also not skeptic about it either. But thats just my opinion, could definetly be wrong.

how can one love a neighbor as the good book has said if it see another as evil? do not humans look at everything thru right and wrong, and the bible said not to, so it is not religion that has caused wars, but men using it to make wars by repeating only half of what is says for their own agenda.....

Then in your case, the aliens would be the higher being.
