There's a difference between typo and misspelling to the point of uneducated ignorance. I can appreciate the fact that some people may not be the best of typists or spellers, but honestly, if I have to work harder to READ what the person says than to actually reply, then they need to check their spelling. It's not that complicated.

I don't mind the typical typos or misspelled words, it happens to everyone. What bothers me is when I can't understand what the person is trying to say because of the errors. Now I don't go around correcting people but they should at least put out the effort.

I agree

And I third that motion!

I would like to point out that all we have here are words, so why not use them? We all make errors, but don't you read words spelled correctly and somehow remember them well?
Do you not type them and know that what you wrote doesn't seem quite right? It is a matter of manners, after all. In a forum where the written word is your most effective and powerful tool.... I know I prefer a chainsaw to a broken coping saw blade, personally! laugh

It's annoying to the reader to figure out at times misspelled words. It also shows that the original poster doesn't care to edit his own posts, so why should other people take the time to bother reading them. Finally, it's not attractive and shows a lact of intellect. There's nothing wrong with the occasional typo, but sentence after sentence of misspelled words is pathetic.

Bang.

This was gonna be MY response (with "lack" spelled right, of courselaugh), but LandRover got to it first.flowerforyou

Grammar is a big deal. If you're going to put yourself out there in a dating environment such as this, you should at least attempt to make yourself seem as intelligent as you are. Punctuation, to a point, I guess wouldn't be horrible if you didn't use it. Little things like forgetting a period in one sentence isn't a big deal, but if you have one long run on, that just shows you to be too lazy to put punctuation in your sentences.

Bang.
wait now sox and you know that I love you but I had a college professor tell me to never let my lack of spelling ability or the fact that I don't use punctuation stop me from writing. See editors will do that for you when you write a book .. I don't think that i am stupid because I can't spell any more than i would question your athletic ability if you could not keep up with me in a yoga class.

As far as grammar and punctuation? Example:

Wanna go f_ck? (this is an invitation to do something)

Wanna go, f_ck? (this is an invitation using a term of endearment)laugh laugh laugh laugh

I am guilty of not always using correct punctuation but I at least try to make the sentence understandable. I may use a comma where a period should be used or similiar errors, but as long as the point has gotten across it is ok for me. All I ask is that I am able to understand what is trying to be said.
