Terrible trade for the Suns.
It doesn't make sense one way or the other... They're taking on a lot of salary and getting a guy that hasn't stayed healthy as of late. He doesn't fit their offensive style of play at all. All it does is make their clubhouse chemistry better wiht a guy like Shaq. But , who knows if Shaq listens to anyone there. For the Heat, it's great...They dump Shaq's salary and get a better player in Marion *who makes less money and is in his final year of his contract*. Marion will play better than Shaq will, BUT I'm not sure how he will adjust to playing with Wade, as Nash is a better player to play with. |

Suns are dumb. Trade marion who can shoot score rebound and defend for Shaq who is to lazy to play half court basketball. How is he going to run up and down the court for 48 minutes?

Suns just bought a broken down horse. Shaq will only be good as a leader and teacher.....His playing days won't last long!!

Okay. Look at it like this. First of all, Marion did want out of Phoenix. Now, he is going to the Heat, a team that will not make the playoffs, but if he and Wade can come together and form a good duo, and the Heat add some youth and skill to there team, then next year can be a good one. Riley already considered this year a bust, and it is obvious he wants to build the team around D-Wade. Marion offers another skill player for them, who is also a good defender. The Heat need someone to run the show for them, and they may find that in the offseason. In any case, if Marion and Wade stay in Miami, and they coexist, then this is an excellent trade for them.
Now to Phoenix. The only thing I can see is that Phoenix felt Shaq had another year or two to help them win a title. I mean, this is what the move is obviously about. Phoenix has had the offense, and yet, they still have not been to the Finals sine 1993. Nash, being the point man he is, will be loved by Shaq. But here is the thing. Can he fit in to what the Suns are doing? Will he require to have everything run through him? For them to change up everything? Honestly, I think Shaq has to accept his role on this team. If he were healthy and would be able to play more games in a season, then I could see him being the focal point. But he just isn't the same guy he was, and we all know it. Still, he can help Phoenix. I really think he can. He knows how to win. Will be interesting to see how this works for Phoenix. |
