LOL, I'm not the person to ask, I rarely get out here. I literally have NO friends around here and haven't gotten to explore the area much. I've only been here since August, but I'm already hating it.

I'm sorry to hear things are not going well for you. We all have our ups and downs. Are there not any people near you in your search results?
Thought about auditing a class somewhere, or joining any sort of a club? I remember reading that you like to cook... there are places where you can go cook for the week with a bunch of other people... that might be a good way to start branching out there. Part-time jobs can be fun too, if they are low stress and high activity.
I know it's tough when you live somewhere you don't like and don't really want to be.

Unfortunately, the combination of living in Illinois and being on this site is not conducive to communication or to meeting someone....!

Before the switch to individual state forums, we had a Chicago forum, which was basically a ghost town 98% of the time. Despite the large numbers of area people on the site (as evidenced by the sheer volume of locals I see in "New Matches" every day), those people don't post, and -- in my admittedly limited experience -- don't respond to e-mails.

And it's not strictly limited to Chicago. Several others, in other states, tell me they have the same problem with their own locals.

Alton is a fair bit away from Joliet, but I wouldn't advise comeing here either it's a terrible bore. Anyway, welcome to the Illinois forums...good to see a bit of activity aside from the Chicago forums.

i live over in eville which isn't too terribly far, and having more friends is never a bad thing. i don't know the alton area that well but i've been around bethalto and wood river a bit...it's all the same, right? :)

Yeah, Bethalto and Wood River are very close. Haha, we have to go over to Wood River to get to Wal Mart... its like 5 mins away... Do you know where Argosy is? Yeah.. I'm pretty close to that. I'm so effing bored and depressed... I need a friend... badly.
