My son has high cholesterol (runs in his dad's family), I was able to get it lowered by changing his diet, but lately he hasn't been very cooperative. So I try to find ways to sneak healthier ingredients into the foods I can get him to eat. One of my favorites and very easy is smoothies.

I always start out with bananas and strawberries since he loves those. Then I add a handful of plain oatmeal, walnuts, and ground flax seed. I add ice and milk. Sometimes I will add the V-8 fruit juice that has veg. juices as well. Blend it all up, and he can't taste anything except the strawberries and bananas.

What are some of your ideas?

My kids do not like to eat veggies....but they love pasta with tomato sauce...so I put carrots other good for you veggies in the food processor and make it like liquid and add it to the tomato sauce. They have no clue!:smile:

Kids are smart...one day I am sure I will get busted by them...till then...what they do not know will make them healthy.laugh

I eventually did...with the broccolli...lol

My son who is the marine...corn...

Well now he eats everything...except creamed spinach..and they all warn each other about that...hell i don't eat that either..lol

You can also buy vegetarian ground "beef" and put it in the spaghetti sauce, or use it for tacos, etc. Vegetable protein works just as well, but it has to be in some kind of sauce as the color is totally different.
