How Does It Sound

How does it sound
As a heart breaks in two?
I imagine it screams
Tearing inside, me from you.
The terrible silence
That stems from a death,
Caused by indifference,
A spirit has wept.
How does it sound
When you sit all alone,
After your pride
Has packed up and gone?
Does your heart ache or
Will it still speak?
I pray that one day,
Maybe you'll see.
The pain that was caused,
Just a moment in time,
A sacrificed heart
paying a crime.
Don't get me wrong,
For to love it takes two,
And for the destruction
Between me and you.
Echoes of loss resound
But they're mine.
The heartache and pain
Have healed in their time.
