Ive always liked going out on monday nights. No one is out. Movies are less crowded, no waiting line at a resteraunt. A few more places are open and you dont have to think twice about going home with the other because chances are one of you has to be at work in the morning so its a little safer.

i prefer to go out on first dates during the week or on Sunday....I usually save Fri-Sat for women i've been dating or going out with friends....I think its best to keep a first date short...one or two hours at the most....that way you don't run out of things to do or say(after all its the first time meeting) and you look forward to finding out more about that person....

I agree, keep it short and stick to a week-night. If it's going well, then there's a second date to look forward to.
 If it's not going so well, then you're off the hook soon enough. "Wow it's almost 10 pm!  I have to work in the morning!"

I would say mid week is the best for a first date because no matter where you go it won't be that packed anywhere. Friday and Saturdays are just so crowded you don't have as much chance to have that one on one time that is so needed on a first date.
Just don't do one tomorrow, I know it is a Tuesday but it is Fat Tuesday and will probably be crowded.....might be a good night to pick a girl up in a bar though.
