the 70s? weLL, I got in on the tail end of the free sex thing, where you
could get laid for a joint. I miss the street racing too. I was the King of Traverse in my 1969 dodge charger. Would outrun the cops all the time just for sport. Back then they would just let you go if you were really fast.( obviously they knew who I was) I used to race for $100.00 a gear. Downtown. Never lost with that car. ( which I still have) WEED WAS 37.50 AN ounce, gas was 36.9, mucsle cars were cheap and parts were plentiful, Women were willing and there were lots of them. |

in our High school parking lot, you were only allowed to park in the
first two rows if you had a muscle car. Made the school photos more cool looking I guess. I graduated in 79. Actually January 79, joined the Marines on Feb. 14th. |

traverse, lotta fun stuff there.talladaga you can get laid there just by
walking past the right rv.never know when a arm will reach out and drag you in.lol |
|

also my best friends dad owned the beer distributorship in town. We had
free refreshments all thru school. Pull in and pick out what we wanted. no one cared back then what we took. Happiness is skipping school in a muscle car full of hot bettys and pot smoke rollin out the windows, with a trunk full of beer. |

...We went back in the woods one time and got blind drunk on Gin. had
to wait so I could see to drive. Would come home after a long night of street racing.. and when I got out of the car... would fall on my face. Too drunk to walk. |

the only action I saw was a guy put his bayonet clear thru his hand
during rifle practice. He finished the routine and then called for a medic. |

75C was a promotions specialist.... I had lots of friends *WEG* 71L is
just a company clerk, they do all the paperwork for the units... promotions, POS, Finance etc.... Not sure what a silent team is... I love a good marine but never dated one.... *S* |

USMC silent drill team. Stationed at Marine corps barricks, Washington
DC. Also known as the "Commadants own." We traveled all over the country putting on precision drill demonstrations. ... Silent because there are no commands given during the entire routine. They are the coolest drill team you will ever get to see. was very proud to be a part of it. Didnt like crawling around in swamps like a snake anyway. |

"...gas was 36.9..."
Shit, where did YOU live? I am from just outside Washington, DC, and got my first car in '74. Gas was .50/gal where I grew up! On the other hand, I turned 21 in '79, so I lived (and did my part) in the FREE LOVE movement. Anything sexually contagious could be cured with a pill and most of you cannot imagine that kind of freedom! I was raised in a "cop" family, ran with and married a biker, went to bluegrass festivals for the weekend whenever possible, and there was always a party SOMEWHERE every night! Sometimes for fun, we'd cross the river into Washington, DC and throw water baloons at hookers on 14th Street for kicks, then try to hit the gas and get off that block before "he/she" could kick off their heels and run us down for revenge. Life was FUN!!! On the downside, when my friends started dying in car wrecks and to suicide, I had to face life's reality checks. I was there when a guy I lived with was killed on his Harley ~ run down like a dog in the road by a '66 Cadillac. It was my 18th birthday. Welcome to "AdultHood" |
