You can not prove either way whether or not he exists.

Again, I offer this just as food for thought,…

You say here that it cannot be proven either way whether or not “he” exists.

I beg to differ with you on this.

It may well be impossible to prove whether or not a supreme deity exists or not. Especially if that deity is given the property of having absolute power and infinite possibility.

However, this is not the case concerning specific pictures of God’s that have been committed in writing. A God who’s persona has been quite literally carved in stone and committed to the pages of a book has a specific history of past actions and statements that have been attributed to it. Those specific pictures of a personified God’s can indeed be ‘proven’ to be inconsistent with the very persona that they claim to be describing.

So while the existence of a generic idea of a supreme entity or life-force cannot be proven or disproved, specific pictures that have been permanently recorded with a specific history can indeed be shown to be logically inconsistent with their own premises and thus be revealed as being unreasonable and therefore untenable.

Again, just my thoughts for whatever they are worth.

If you were to read the Bible and analyze the prophecies that have been fulfilled you would come to the conclusion that God does is exist.

The Bible is like statistics, you can bend it to say what you want. My interpretation might be totally different than yours.

Santa Claus being compared to God

Why not?

They both keep lists of who’s been naughty or nice
They both offer fun gifts for those have been nice
They both offer crap for those who have been naughty
They both have never been seen in-person
They both have armies of workers; elves or angels
They both are known to be the creators of the gifts they give
They both accept lists of requests and promise to fulfill them
They both are said to live in some magical fantasy place
They both are thought of as being old men
They both are recognized on December 25th.

They have a lot in common. How can we be so sure they aren’t the same guy?

All of the stories in the Bible were written after the fact.

It’s easy to write ‘prophesies’ into a story when you already know how it ends.

I am not saying there is no "God" just saying that what churches and such try to shove down our throats is wrong. C'mon people Jesus' Dec. 25th birth has already been proven as false. Historians have already claimed that the freezing tempature there would have made childbirth impossible. Christians merely incorporated an already celebrated pagan holiday to try to sway Pagans into taking stock in Christianity.

Another example - Abortions. The masses say "It's against the will of God." But in the same sentence they also say that, "God knows everything that will happen."

Doesn't it make sense that God already knows these abortions are going to take place and has done nothing to prevent them? And stopping them by burning clinics down is against his will also?

Just food for thought. These are conclusions I have drawn. Don't bash, if your opinions are different, then show me evidence and not this magical thing called faith. Civilization once had faith the world was flat also.

The bible is a compilation of stories of wifes tales of old. Parables at best. It is not meant to be used or taken literally. I have read through more than one bible as there are different versions and I found that it is great insight into the men of these times. Their thoughts of how things should be and what causes problems, etc.... But at no level is it prophetic, historical, or scientific. It is just a book of stories of old. That is all. Once someone is told it should be revered and worshiped then the meaning behind it changes in their mind but that does not change the fact that it is a book of compiled stories from men who wrote them and do not forget the King or whoever that chose what went into the bible and edited the content to fit his agenda.

Oh no!!!! You said the "A" word!!! LOL Actually I agree with the thought process here. It makes no sense that an all knowing god would make the things that will send us to hell. He made the devil to torture us and he makes all the sinful pleasures we are to abstain from, for what? To test those he loves to see if they are worthy? But if you love someone they are already worthy cause you already love them, right?

I disagree. I have read the Bible cover to cover seven times, have spent a great deal of time reading other reference material about it and about those times, and I am an atheist.

Not everyone will come to the same conclusions.

Do we simply as humans need an object to worship/blame in order to justify our actions?

yesw, I'm a Zoroastrian Pagan...well mostly... so I don't need a specific god or goddess...

I think God just gives you a focal point.
