Wind's finally dying out somewhat here, we did lose cable for a while and there's all kinds of stuff flying around but hopefully, we're near the end

We had a rough day and night in our area..a neighboring county had brush fires that destroyed about 1000 acres of land...the winds were awful..actually had a tractor trailor flip several times on a bridge from the gusts that I believe they said were about 50 miles an hour.. About 35,000 people ..including me lost power from downed tress on powerlines..Thankfully my power came back on around 10pm last night, enabling me and my family to return home....Glad its over..

Thanks hun..there are still brush fires burning in Dinwiddie..we could actually smell the smoke from them here, and its at least 20 miles away from here..
The good news is its been raining some, so that may help put them out..

Nothing major, only problem was they told us it was going to warm up overnight and the ice would be gone by morning. HA! 1/2" on just about everything but at least the roads were pretty clear.

Blonderockermom--are you in Augusta County? I was told there was a bad fire off of 608 and I lost the majority of 2 big trees, on the weekend. I've lost 3 trees and had major power outages since moving here, just shy of 2 years ago. It's a pretty area, but not my home. These wind stoms freak me out.

Hi Shaden..I am about 30 min. south of Richmond in a little town called Disputanta..in Dinwiddie which isn't far from me they had the brush fires..I think they are all under control now partly due to all the rain we have had.. Didn't like that windstorm we had the other day either..Made me a nervous wreck..

We also had a brush fire. It was supposed to have done a lot of damage, but I was fax machine searching and unaware. I also had 8 or so shingles blow off my roof, but was a lot luckier than most of my neighbors. Some lost big sections off of their roofs.

Some people nearby did have damage to their homes due to the fires, and wind storm...guess we both got lucky on this one..
