No I think we have our own problems to spend our money on. The Mexican government choses to not help its people and it encourages them to come here so then it becomes our problems. That means there rich get richer because they dont have to support their poor or have decent minimum wage.

If we wouldnt allow them to come here and wouldn't allow them to work here then that would allow things in mexico to get bad enough so that the people could possibly revolt and start a new system of government.

The sad truth is that illegal immigrants are a drain on our economy.

So legalise them, how can they be a drain as legal tax paying citisens? That the mexican government is corrupt is only more reason to save what people we can, it's the same for Mexicans today as it was for my Irish fathers when they came. Freedom for all I say;^]

I agree with the original post, it's a bit disheartening to see that 95% of the first page of immediate posts were all jokes, not even politically related at that.

Most are below the poverty level. If we legalize them then many would qualify for welfare, food stamps, etc. That would cost us even more.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. The point of free elections is that you can vote for whoever you want, for whatever reason you want. I disagree with that reasoning, but that doesn't mean that it's wrong. A discussion about why people distrust all muslims would certainly be more intellectually useful than the drudge that this thread turned into.

Also...where is that information from? I don't dispute it necessarily, except in particular the part about shunning the flag while slouching. Haha. Seriously, I didn't do any research on that, but I can't imagine that it's true.

They're below the poverty leval because they can only get jobs that pay below the minimum wage, most of the ones who come here are hard workers and only want to support their family. On immigration, I don't care about how well off they are, poor folks need to eat too. But I respect that you give a civil arguement, and I'm out on that note & will stop hijacking this thread;^]

I simply love people who think because someone uses language to convey a thought, it means that the "bad language user" is not informed, or stupid, or whatever. Yeah, score one for the judgmental people out there who are the ONLY ones who think logically. I am so impressed.

I'm just an average guy with lot's of good ideas... and a propensity to be a leader. I think there are millions of folks like me in this country, and the folks we are given as choices to vote for just plain suck. Typically, most (not all) of them come up through some ultra-rich (both Democrats and Republicans) golden-spoon-in-their-mouth lifestyle, and they have no idea what really goes on in the heartland of America. The same heartland that makes up a huge majority of voters and individuals calling themselves Americans.

Coming from the top 5% of the ultra-rich does no earthly good when it comes to leadership. Or, if they are not from an ultra-rich background, they have struck it rich in either business, or politics (yes, there are now political millionaires in our leadership positions)... Not that the rich don't have a couple good ideas, but they don't have ALL of the ideas. Mostly, they have (in my opinion) a blind-sided view of the world.

For example... if a rich individual ceases to have to buy their own groceries or actually do the shopping for their actual goods that they consume at retail stores... how on Earth can they be in touch with the needs of the people.

I'm convinced that (as an example) Bush has no idea what a gallon of milk or a dozen eggs cost at the grocery store. He needs a Presidential adviser to tell him in a report what the cost of eggs is... and I'm sure he hasn't driven his own vehicle passed a gas pump in the last 3 years... he has people that fill-up the royal sedan for him. Pity if he got a little gasoline on his hands...

The problem, though I am exaggerating somewhat... is that elitists are running the country, and they are running it into the ground. Meanwhile, the populace has no choice but to vote for the next elitist who throws millions of dollars into the next campaign.

In the last campaign for Governor of the state of Michigan, it boiled down to two individuals. Jennifer Grandholm, who was the current Governor, and a Democrat (which makes no difference pertaining to what Party did what...) and the fellow by the last name of DeVoss. You may recognize the Devoss name as the family who started the Amway empire in and around Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mr. Devoss spent SIXTY MILLION DOLLARS of his own money on the election... AND LOST !!!!!!! All that just for the Governor seat for the state of Michigan.

If no one else sees the complete asinine nature of this, the world is indeed blind...

If a person were to spend $150 a month on groceries (I realize some spend more and some less...), do you realize that is 400,000 months worth of groceries? That's 33,333 YEARS worth of groceries for one family... all pissed away in a lost election for the Governor of the state of Michigan.

We are being led by elitists who pour money down the drain like it is so much bad bacon grease...

Go ahead and vote for a Democrat or a Republican if you wish... but I will be writing in my own name... I think I have better ideas than any of those currently blasting money out of their bank accounts like they have a fire hose connected to the "withdrawal" function.

Some of this I say in jest, but some if it has a large grain of truth included... sometimes humor is the best medicine... but I don't think the current election system is going to come up with a true leader... based on the way the system is set up to cater to the rich politician who has money to burn in a political furnace in order to get media attention.

Put me in a debate with any of these folks... and let me talk about REAL issues... I'll bury them all.....

Black people, being historically oppressed and undeniably more underprivileged in current society, can get away with that because of the pretense that their ethnicity is in need of support. Whites, however, are not perceived as behind the 8 ball as an ethnicity and because of that, any banding together for the purpose of whites only is seen as racism.
Is it right? In my opinion, no. But the stigma that attaches when a white person tells black people they can't band together and excludes whites is so huge due to everything that has happened in the past that white people are effectively silenced on the issue. JMO of course
