Galveston, TX (AHN) - Officials are still searching for the man identified to be the biological father of a three-month old baby found dead in a grassy area of the city.

Police identified Travis Mullis, 21, as a person if interest in the case, as he was said to have been the last one to be with the baby. His name and description were given to the police Tuesday by a woman who identified the baby as her son. According to her, Mullis had taken the baby with him earlier that morning, and they had not yet returned.

The Galveston Daily News reported that the woman had given information on the father's appearance, saying that he had recently dyed his hair blonde.

Mullis had taken the car with the baby in it at around 5 a.m., saying that he was going to get repairs for the car. It was when they had not yet returned hours after that the mother started to call the hospitals.

Reports also revealed that a baby seat was found about 30 feet from the corpse. Officials are suspecting that the baby was thrown out from the window of a moving vehicle, although there are still no confirmations.

"But the location of the child and the baby seat is not consistent with a moving vehicle," Fox News quoted Lt. Jorje Trevino of the Galveston Police. "It was likely the car was stopped."

Mullis was said to have been driving a silver, four-door Hyundai Accent, has duct tape on handle of rear passenger door, with a license plate reading 067RJP.

The baby's corpse was found on the grassy area by a couple who at first mistook it for a doll. Investigators concluded that the infant died of blunt trauma to the head, killing it before it was transported to the location where the couple found it.

Just throw him in prison. The murderers and rapists will take care of him. No one likes pedophiles or baby killers in prison.

I saw this horrible piece of news on the Nancy Grace show last night. How in the world can anyone kill an innocent baby?! This guy is either on drugs or has more than a few loose screws.

You know what's the worst part of this story? This happens daily in other parts of the United States, and they get no news report. But when it happens where "it shouldn't of" it gets headlines. Don't get me wrong this is a terrible tragedy in which no child should ever be victim too, but understand that reporting on one or two strewn about the country so diversly isn't going to make the matter disappear. I used to live in Ogden, Utah, this was almost a weekly occurence there...most it hit was local news and usually not even that.
