Ok yes...I'm 18. But I am older mentally and emotionally than my age....why do people judge before they know me?

"Age is but rings on a tree, we are only as old as our minds wish our bodies to be!"

He might have felt that you wouldnt be able to go with him to certain social places like a bar, club or even resteraunt because you are under 21. I wouldnt take it personal.

I'm hate to be the odd one out, but age is much more than a number. If I were the guy you messaged, I would have said you were too young as well. You may very well be mature for your age, but you're still at a very different point in your life than someone at 25. I'm 22 now and can honestly say I am a completely different person than I was when I was 18. People grow, mature and change throughout the end of teen years and early 20's. Hope that makes a bit more sense to you.

I don't know, leah. Age is really only a number, so long as you are both at least 18. I'm 44 and my girl is 31. We don't have any problem talking to each other. But I suppose people have their own reasons, and it could be anything, including the part about wanting someone who is 21 so they can go drinking. But then, if he only wants that, maybe he's not so cool after all?

Ok well...people change throughout their lives so to pin point that to one age period isn't smart.

Very well said.
