Okay I am a licenced Medical assistant. I have been one since 2005. Im also a licensed care-giver for the state. BUT I cant find work as a M.A., receptionist, phlebotomist, ect and i dont want to go back into caregiving.
I can get a job as a CNA BUT only if I take a corse. Problem is that as a M.A. I am OVER qualitfied to do CNA work and I feel like i have to be dumbed down to be doing the same thing I would be doing as a care-giver (only with better pay and bennfits)
WHY IN THE HECK cant someone just hire me as a M.A. to do work that I have ALREADY been trained to do withotu spending MORE money which i DONT have to get a lesser title then I already have?
HELL I get thrown out of my home Thursday if I dont have a f*cking job and now i have to TRY to tell them "Hey No one in their right mind will hire a Certified Medical Assistant But if you giveme another $600 and 10 weeks i MIGHT be able to get a job as a damn assistant to what I already do!"
Yeah THAT will go over well explode mad explode

Can you bite the bullet and do the caregiving until you've saved enough money to pay for the CNA class?

You do what you need to do to keep your home. Take what you can get for now and start surviving. How are you going to fill out an application to work anywhere if you don't have an address? Take what you can get, regroup, and start from there.

Plus, its easier to find a job if you have a job.

Well I don't have a degree and I want to go back to school so I can get a better job, but the job market just right out sucks in Michigan, every body feeling it. I mean it's not like I have given up I have just put some things on the side right now until I can at least fix some other things right now.

Times are hard and if I was in your shoes I do whatever you can even if you hate it, just do it until you can get your foot into another door etc.

I hate my current job even if it's part time and my hours very weekly, and I've been looking for another job for more then five or so years now if not more. The jobs I even look for are all hiring but the problem is I don't always hear from them and they rather have some one with a degree, that's why I am also looking for a work at home type job just to bring in more income, but most of these work at home jobs want a heck of a lot of money to jump start it and what not.

Heck and I am really awaiting like most people are, for my W-2 to come in really soon.

Best of luck to you though.
