Topic: Slave to routine? | |
---|---|
Yeah, so I have a routine for my day, so what?! I get up at the same time, usually have close to the same breakfast, do my daily devotional, watch the same tv programs, bathe my dog on the same day of the week, do laundry on Monday, brush my teeth every morning and night. And?
Recently, it was "mentioned" that I may be a bit rigid with my habits/routines. OK, it is not written in stone or anything and I CAN roll with the flow, if need be, however.....boundaries/schedules/routine/structure is comforting to me on some level. What do you think? |

I think just about everyone has some sort of routine, no big deal. It's just something that works for them in managing their life. I think the only time it can be a problem is if you're so rigid about it that you CAN'T be flexible if the need arises (hint to my sister ). Cause life happens sometimes and you need to roll with it.

You sound exactly like ME!! I must have a routine though can deviate when necessary. I think it stems from when I was a young mother trying to a work full time job, a part time job, went to school full time and had small children. If I didn't have a "plan/schedule" things just did not get done!!

being a creature of habit/routine never hurt anyone...it's all about how we are able to cope with what happens in life.

Well when you get some time for yourself you should paint the town or unleash the beast..... |

I have a routine but it is flexible. I think being organized is a good therapy also...and if my routine gets REALLY SCREWED up then I seem to have a problem with whomever/whatever screwed it up...

my routine is alarm goes off,hit snooze 203 times, curse a lot, get up,general chaos,go to work/drop child at daycare, after work pick up son,go home.more general chaos and mayhem, play on computer while yelling at said son periodically to please stop jumping around on his bed, floor etc, supper, some tv read to kid, nightly whining from child about bedtime, put kid to bed, nightly prayers to God I live thru this child's formative years, drag ass upstairs to bed,lay awake for hours, fall asleep one hour till alarm goes off.....my routine is pretty rigid but it can be tweaked..
