Topic: LEPERS THE FOURTEENTH - part 14 | |

Angels are everywhere... it is for us to feel them, recognize them, and trust that they know how to comfort us, if we open up to them. There are many angels surrounding you.... if only you knew how many

Gotta hold on easy as I let you go.
Gonna tell you how much I love you, though you think you already know. I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm. You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born. Chorus: Your beautiful baby from the outside in. Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again. Go on, take on this whole world. But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl. Verse 2: When you were in trouble that crooked little smile could melt my heart of stone. Now look at you, I've turned around and you've almost grown. Sometimes you're asleep I whisper "I Love You!" in the moonlight at your door. As I walk away, I hear you say, "Daddy Love You More!". (Repeat Chorus) Verse 3: Someday, some boy will come and ask me for your hand. But I won't say "yes" to him unless I know, he's the half that makes you whole, he has a poet's soul, and the heart of a man's man. I know he'll say that he's in love. But between you and me. He won't be good enough! (Repeat Chorus) |

The Declaration of Independence
Think I could tell you that first sentence But then I’m lost I can't begin to count the theories I've had pounded in my head That I forgot I don't remember all that Spanish Or the Gettysburg address But there is one speech from high school I'll never forget (Chorus) Come on in boy sit on down And tell me about yourself So you like my daughter do you now? Yeah we think she's something else She's her daddy's girl Her momma's world She deserves respect That’s what she'll get Ain’t it son? Hey y'all run along and have some fun I'll see you when you get back Bet I’ll be up all night Still cleanin' this gun Well now that I’m a father I’m scared to death one day my daughter Is gonna find That teenage boy I used to be That seems to have just one thing on his mind She’s growin' up so fast It won't be long before I’ll have to put the fear of god into Some kid at the door (Chorus) Come on in boy sit on down And tell me about yourself So you like my daughter do you now? Yeah we think she's something else She's her daddy's girl Her momma's world She deserves respect That’s what she'll get Now ain't it son? Y’all go out and have some fun I'll see you when you get back Probably be up all night Still cleanin' this gun Now it's all for show Ain’t nobody gonna get hurt It’s just a daddy thing And hey, believe me, man it works (Chorus) Come on in boy sit on down And tell me about yourself So you like my daughter do you now? Yeah we think she's something else She's her daddy's girl Her momma's world She deserves respect That’s what she'll get Now ain't it son? Y’all run along and have a little fun I'll see you when you get back Probably be up all night Still cleanin' this gun Son, now y'all buckle up and have her back by te- let's say about nine...thirty. Drive safe. |

I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don’t bother me I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while Even though going on with you gone still upsets me There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok But that’s not what gets me What hurts the most Was being so close And having so much to say And watching you walk away And never knowing What could have been And not seeing that loving you Is what I was tryin’ to do It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go But I’m doin’ It It’s hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I’m alone Still Harder Getting up, getting dressed, livin’ with this regret But I know if I could do it over I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart That I left unspoken What hurts the most Is being so close And having so much to say And watching you walk away And never knowing What could have been And not seeing that loving you Is what I was trying to do What hurts the most Is being so close And having so much to say And watching you walk away And never knowing What could have been And not seeing that loving you Is what I was trying to do (Not seeing that loving you) That’s what I was trying to do |

I remember Daddy´s hands, folded silently in prayer.
And reaching out to hold me, when I had a nightmare. You could read quite a story, in the callouses and lines. Years of work and worry had left their mark behind. I remember Daddy´s hands, how they held my Mama tight, And patted my back, for something done right. There are things that I´ve forgotten, that I loved about the man, But I´ll always remember the love in Daddy´s hands. Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´. Daddy´s hands, were hard as steel when I´d done wrong. Daddy´s hands, weren´t always gentle But I´ve come to understand. There was always love in Daddy´s hands. I remember Daddy´s hands, working 'til they bled. Sacrificed unselfishly, just to keep us all fed. If I could do things over, I´d live my life again. And never take for granted the love in Daddy´s hands. Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´. Daddy´s hands, were hard as steel when I´d done wrong. Daddy´s hands, weren´t always gentle But I´ve come to understand. There was always love in Daddy´s hands. Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´. Daddy´s hands, were hard as steel when I´d done wrong. Daddy´s hands, weren´t always gentle But I´ve come to understand. There was always love ..... In Daddy´s hands. |

I woke up cryin' late at night - when I was very young
I had dreamed my father - had passed away and gone My world revolved around him - I couldn't lie there anymore So I made my way down the mirrowed hall and tapped upon his door. And I said, "Daddy, I'm so afraid! How would I go on, with you gone that way? Don't wanna cry anymore So may I stay with you?" And he said, "That's my job, that's what I do Everything I do is because of you To keep you safe with me ... That's my job, you see." Later we barely got along - this teenage boy and he Most of the fights it seems - were over different dreams We each held for me ... He wanted knowledge and learning - I wanted to fly out west "Said I could make it out there - if I just had the fare I got half, will you loan me the rest?" And I said, "Daddy, I'm so afraid Theres no guarentee in the plans I've made And if I should fail, who will pay my way back home?" And he said, "That's my job, that's what I do Ev'rything I do is because of you To keep you safe with me ... That's my job, you see." Every person carves his spot - and fills the hole with life And I pray someday I might - light as bright as he. Woke up early one bright fall day - read the tragic news After all my travels, I settled down - within a mile or two I make my livin' with words and rhymes - and all the tragedies Should go into my head and out instead - as bits of poetry. But I say, "Daddy I'm so afraid How will I go on - with you gone this way How can I come up - with a song to say, "I love you." "That's my job, that's what I do Ev'rything I do is because of you To keep you safe with me ... That's my job, you see." "Ev'rything I do is because of you To keep you safe with me." |
