Now, i now i'm not the best catch in the sea or whatever metaphor is most current.

What's a typical time frame on replies? The nifty little update shows when sent mail has been read etc. so i know it's been looked at.

I'm just don't want to cross the line into bugging or harassing ladies, just because they're too nice or whatever to say i'm not interested or go to hell, etc.

I don't know if there is a time frame. I have been very fortunate in that everyone I have e-mailed got back to me right away. (must be my hotness). Keep in mind that some people have profiles but are not active. Your best bet is to keep looking around and posting in the forums. That way you can see and be seen.

I'm still waiting for replies from everybody I e-mailed when I first signed up over a year ago.

Seriously, I gave up on mailing anybody first months ago.

Once I got established here on the forums, people started e-mailing me, and now I get lots of mail. But I won't write to anyone first anymore.

Lex, you do realize the inherent flaw in that logic..I mean, if everyone did that???

Sure, somebody has to do it first, otherwise nobody would ever write to anybody.

I just have a very low tolerance for rudeness and inconsiderateness. I mean, everybody who writes to me gets a reply, unless it's a scammer or a spammer or something.

But when I first signed up here, I was hoping to meet some local people for friends. So I sent out some e-mails, and nothing. A little later, once I had established myself in the forums, I tried to e-mail some other new local people, just to tell them a little about the site, and about the forums. Some of them actually did start posting, but not a one ever acknowledged my e-mails.

There comes a time when you realize the horse is dead, and you can put the stick down....

Just had to put my two cents in. I guess I have been inordinately lucky. Or, maybe I just picked people who seemed like they might want to talk to someone like me. Who knows? And I am not even famous like you are!
