I've been here for a month or so. This seems to be more of a friendship site rather than dating. Not everyone can get up and move somewhere else. My restrictions are within 100 miles, which still is a bit far, unless they will pay for my gas:tongue: . But seriously, how many people actually met and it worked out? Let me know your thoughts.

I've found that other sites I use actually generate more dates than this one, for me anyway! This one is the most fun for posting in the forums, but I agree with you.

True.com is a good site, but expencive as heck, I think when you first sign up you get a month free. But make sure you call to cancle a Day before its been a month. Anyways Ive dated a few woman online here they were very nice but it just didnt work out, a lot of people ive noticed are just here to chat with people, instead of being interested in dating.

I have to agree with your basic premise. When I first signed up here, a little over a year ago, I was coming off a series of really bad LDRs and was hoping to meet someone closer. Never could get anyone near me to even talk to me, though. I tried sending e-mails to people I saw in my local matches, and never got a single reply.

But after I had been posting in the forums for awhile, I started getting more and more e-mails from other JSHers. All from very far away, though! Now I get tons of e-mail here -- just never a peep out of anyone nearby.

It's a great friend site, no doubt. I have run into more good people on JSH than on all the other sites I've been on put together.

And it's really not the site's fault that I couldn't find anyone suitable here for a relationship. The fact is, I'm extremely "selective," and I have yet to find anyone on this site that clearly fits within my requirements. And the ones who might, are too far away to pursue.

I really doubt if I will ever meet anyone from JSH in person. And I recently got back together with the one ex-gf I had, who actually does meet all the "qualifications," so I'm not looking for anything but friends at this point, anyway.

But I have to admit, there were some pretty frustrating moments back in the days when I was still trying to talk to the locals....! Live and learn....

Ahh... gotcha RamFan

Yahoo personals and Match.com are about the "best" overall dating sites out there. They have the most members and about the best formats. Some people really like the targeted searches of places like eHarmony and PerfectMatch but I don't care for 'em myself.

There are pros and cons to every format and every site. Go with what you like and are comfortable with. Almost all dating sites will let you create a profile and browse around for free.

Hey Maudred, I found True to be just another place like singlesnet and mate1 - scam sites with fraud profiles of hot babes in lingerie all writing asking every guy to join (pay up $$) so they can email.

Besides, dont all good relationships come from friendship first? I personaly would want to marry my best friend.

Well thank you maybe I'll try to get signed up somewhere else for dating then. Just don't want to pay a ton, still young and hopeful I guess. Again much appreciated.
