I think I'm better don't really know, he came home yesterday, started out great then he told me he knew he was going to mess up and still be harsh with my daughter So does that mean he's not willing to try, or what?

I tried talkin to him and all he said was "I don't wanna talk about it"

Thing is, he probably will, at least for a while. You and he have different parenting styles and it's going to take a while for new habits to emerge. Praise him when he does things well, gently point out when he slips and give him concrete examples of how he could have handled things differently. He probably doesn't know how to talk about it or how to change things, which is why counseling's such a good idea. But, I think he's there and is willing to go to counseling, which says to me he's willing to try. Just, don't expect perfection.
