Personally and professionally, I think it's coitus interruptus: hard drive and soft ware.

Make sure you download SPYBOT SEARCH and DESTROY and NOT SPYBOT.

Spybot is BAD.

Wellllll...that didn't work. It has taken me all this time to get my pc back up and running. I couldn't even get in it? I had to uninstall spybot and...damnit...I am so pissed.

Maybe I will try it again. Everything was going good then this thing came up and was so confusing. I think it took my server out of the game. I could not open up Internet explorer nor yahoo. I am so tired of looking at this thing. I wish I had a good job. I would just take it in and get it repaired and updated.

I am such a lost cause.

Thank you everyone.

TrendMicro housecall, search it in google and click the first link, or you can search trend micro and click the second link (in google). Takes upwards of 3 hours but will find everything on your PC guaranteed, if you don't have the time Ad-Aware is a good pick but personally if I'm looking for something specific I find a removal tool for the malware/virus.

My Mcafee has a place to uninstall and reinstall....it won't do it. It frezzes up. The McAfee has never been fully installed yet. Arrrrggggghhhhh!!!

Can you believe this crap? 2.98 a minute!! wtf!?? Am I rich here?

Then they tell me I may have to take it to a tech? Broke here.

My son is going to take over my pc in awhile to see what he can see. Then maybe walk me through shutting it down. I will make sure and tell him about those sites.

Seems like I tried the spybot before and it did something wierd. Can't remember exactly though.

Kat

From what you said righthere, it sounds more like the problem is your mcafee program being corrupted. Disnstall it comletely and do not try to reinstall it. Find a different program you are comfortable with, but do not reinstall the mcaffee that yo currently have.
The reason your system freezes up when installing it is because of the fact that mcafee is bad (in this aprticular case) and other programs you have on your computer recognize this, and freeze everything when you try and install in order to prevent any damage from mcafee.
I could be wrong, but I have had the same problme in the past.

Don't forget the registry entries of Mcafee, sneaky little buggers are everywhere. Do a search on Mcafee removal if you take this course.

Well, I can tell you that spybot did remove 350 things. I just had this problem? I couldn't open ANY window. None. Zilch. Nada.

I am still not protected though?

My son called me and was way too tired to even try to take over. Besides which he was afraid he would do something wrong...not being able to restart and all.

I would really like to try to do the spybot thing again sometime soon.

Maybe the home one may get my interest. I am just a dummy here.

I did not post this in here because of all the pc whizes...you know...the lingo? I do not know most of it. I'm just a novice.

Just a virrrrrginnnnnnn...la la la la la la la la la la...lol

I agree about grisoft, if you must use a windows machine, I'm a mac guy, AVG is the way to go for antivirus and antispam. I've had lots of friends and relatives call me wanting me to fix their new computers that are so slow. The problem is usually mcafee or norton. Uninstall that, installed avg and presto triple the speed. Not sure what the problem is with the others, but my sister had viruses galore on her home computer, I uninstalled norton as it obviously wasn't doing it's job, installed avg free and she's been virtually virus free ever since. Just a happy user, not a sales rep. I use norton on my powerbook and it doesn't cause any of the problems pc users have. Oh well, such is life.

I purchased Norton and tried installing it. Some of it installed. It was conflicted somehow. It never did work for me. I was very upset about that. It wasn't cheap.

Right now...I couldn't be much happier. It is running soo smooth. Everything opens up fast and clean. Maybe it will stay this way for awhile.

I did an aweful lot of cleaning up on this computer yesterday. I mean seriously cleaned it. The only thing I didn't do was a full system restore. I thought I was going to though. So, I went out and bought CD's to back up things I wanted to keep.

But.............no complaints right now.

Yeaaaaaaaaa!!!
