as i stare out my window,at the new day so bright, i hear children laughing,see a sparrow taking flight,that tiny shred of happiness,where i wish i belong,was suddenly ripped away,when i turned to see your still gone,this desert that is my minds eye,that i fear i cannot cross,will i simply die of thirst,in waves i'm meerly tossed,ironic now how strong i was,didnt need anything,and definatly anyone,having things done my way,has gotten me where i am today,i should have listened,i should have cared,to maybe just one thing,you tried to share,to have seen you,for what you were,in my own ego,my vision blurred,if theres one thing i've learned these years,is to listen with heart,not only ears,its taken some time to finally see,the world is much bigger,than little ole me,and maybe some day,our paths cross again,for now i am worthy,of taking your hand
