Sometime after God created the world and before mankind populated it, he
was talking to Gabriel. "Gabe" he said, "I'm going to create a new
country. At one end it will start with majestic mountains, filled with a
multitude of wildlife and cool clear streams fed by glaciers. As the
land goes east, it will flatten out into vast plains with rich soil for
growing grains. Going further east, I'll scoop out vast expanses of land
and create five enormous lakes and at one end of the lake system will be
an huge waterfall that will be a never ending supply of
hydro-electricity, once it's invented by the people of this great land.
The lakes and rivers will be filled with fish, and the east and west
coasts will be teeming with fish to feed the population. The country
will have a wealth of resources and an abundance of wildlife. It will be
my best work yet and I think I'll call it...Canada."
Gabriel says, "Don't you think that's a bit too good for the people that
will live there?"
God says,"Nah, wait til you see what I give them for neighbours."
