God is what we make of him/her, and a god can be anything that you worship more than yourself, and it does not have to be religious, it could be a partner or money.

If we put "god" before everything else, things are supposed to turn out better, if we put others or things before us, other than god, we risk letting evil in.

Thank you

Thats my point brother. There are poeple out here who believe that our God is the ONLY god in existence, hence my question. If our God admits to toher gods being around, how can he be the only one?

What is a god? A "god" is an object of worship. Jews were henotheistic in a way. They accepted that one could worship the nature or money or women or oneself. But the distinction is made throughout the Bible that God is the living God. The appearant contrast that is to be made is that all other gods are not living. They are created things, which were made by hands and minds. God is uncreated and living. If you think that there is a pantheon of gods and that God is just one of them or even the greatest of them, you need to return to your Bible.

here are chapter 15 and 16, immediately following my original quote of exodus 35:14

15. otherwise you might make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land and they would play the harlot with their gods and sacrifice to their gods , and someone might invite you to eat of his sacrifice ,
16. and you might take some of his daughters for your sons , and his daughters might play the harlot with their gods and cause your sons also to play the harlot with their gods .

I'm unsure of what your point is. Other "gods" exist. Statues. Figments of human imagination or desires. Women. Sex. Money. Power. All gods. None of them think or act. There is only one living God.

What about Bhudda? I can not rememebr the rest right now as I just woke up, lol, be Budha is a perfect example of a "living god" as he once lived.
There are some out there that believe Budha is the equivelant to Jesus Christ. Now I am not saying I am one of them or anything, just that ther are those out there that think so.
