I came back to my solitude
With my daughters this time,
To spend some moments at the riverwalk
And so glad they're mine.
Watching them skate the sidewalk
Or enjoying the sites with me,
Taking in nature and the warm sun
The way it ought to be.
Sharing special moments in bonding
Of being as daughters to father together,
Enjoying our time of special needs
And sharing the beautiful weather.
Oh these special moments I bare
Are only in my head,
Taking in their love I feel
But wishing instead.
These thoughts of them I see
And knowing they're not here,
They're growing up so fast
It's losing them I fear.

Yes it is hard when they "have things to do" as I am told, I can remember when they were little thinking that I would be glad when they were not so dependent on me but I was wishing my life away and now I miss those days,but we never learn that until it is too late and only get to steal moments from their busy lives. Makes me feel old.

Beautiful and I know the feeling it tears at your heart as they begin adventures that you are not a part of. They do come back, and before you know it the house is overflowing with their friends also

I tried so hard this weekend to spend time with them sweetheart...that it seemed like they didn't have time for me anymore or even wanted to ask if I had plans. I'll quit....

Thanks Pam...I look forward to those days that they will come back...but hold off on the grandkids or friends right now.
