What the RIAA is doing is essentially extortion. DirecTV had done the
samething in the past. People were buying loaders and card programmers
off the internet and programming their satellite smartcards for free tv.
I know because I know several people that was doing it. DTV sent letters
out to people who had bought these devices and smartcards off the
internet. I have seen it happen before and will again I am sure since I
always seem to be in the middle of it all lol. If anyone from DTV or
DishNet is looking in here Fuck you Dave and Charlie LOL

I don't see the internet being shutdown lol but as far as revenue what
is not bought off the internet will still be bought through catalouges
or elsewhere so actually loss of revenue wouldn't be as bad as you might
think. There would be alot of companies that would sink though like
vonage and all internet providers like the local cable company. No it's
not gonna happen. May the RIAA RIP

Dont forget even if you have regular phone service all the major
companies are using VoIP to move calls from point a to point b then
going back to the wired system. Why do you think Verizon is spending
billions on fiber optics so they will not be responsible for the
degrading copper above ground. I should not even get started on this.
Lets just leave it at the internet will never close down as it is a
world asset and the US or any organisation out there would have issues
closing it. Considering there are so many people out there that would
just put up their own DNS servers and that would be it game over.

kinda funny you mentioning DTV. It is illegal in Canada to have it. The
Canadian gov't created a new "Canadian culture in broadcasting law" that
stated all broadcasters in Canada(TV and radio) must provide at LEAST
60% Canadian content. Essentially what it was doing was allowing two
Canadian Satellite providers to own a biopoly in the marketplace.
What was REALLY going on was they were protecting 2 Canadian companies
that were providing an inferior service to DTV(in spite of what you
might say about them lol). Neither of them (Bell Expressvu and Star
Choice) could compare nor compete with DirecTV.
Just one more reason I'd prefer to live in the US. There is NO such
thing as a free market in Canada unless yer a Canadian company.

As for having the internet shut down? I got three words...'Yeah, Good
luck' lmaooo.
For Neil Young fans, Neil had a site created where you can download his
songs for free(sorry don't know the address for it, google Neil Young I
guess). Maybe Neil should go after RIAA for infringing on HIS rights as
an artist to distribute his music.lmaooo
